About the Hotel
Once it was the summer palace of the rulers of Mewar. Built two and a half
centuries ago by Maharana Jagat Singh II on a rocky island rising from the
broad waters of Lake Pichhola, which was created by his forbear, Maharana
Udai Singh, after whom Udaipur is named.
Accommodation
There are 84 centrally air-conditioned rooms including 17 beautiful suites
and 53 Deluxe rooms.
The rooms and the suites of the hotel are beautifully designed; each having
a particular theme & decorated with textiles and handicrafts of the
region. The royal banquet rooms are now reception rooms, bars and
restaurants. Apartments names the Bada Mahal, Khush Mahal, Sajjan Niwas,
Phool Mahal and the Dhola Mahal add to the romantic setting and give a taste
of the regal splendor of a bygone era.

Sightseeing
City Palace :
The imposing City Palace, towering over the lake, is the largest palace
complex in Rajasthan. The palace is surmounted by balconies, towers and
cupolas and there are fine views over the lake and the city from the upper
terraces. The palace stands along the shores of Pichhola.
Sahaelion- Ki- Bari :
Saheliyon ki Bari, or Garden of the Maids of Honour, is in the north of the
city. This small ornamental garden, with its fountains, kiosks, marble
elephants and delightful lotus pool.
Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal :
This is a museum of folk arts which has rich collection of folk dresses,
ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk musical instruments and paintings.
